JACKSONVILLE — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District invites partners, stakeholders, and the public to the release of the 2023 Integrated Delivery Schedule (IDS) at the South Florida Ecosystem Restoration (SFER) Task Force Meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2023, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

“Our strong collaborative relationships with state and federal partners, high levels of public engagement in our projects, and record-breaking funding at both the state and federal level have made our continued momentum in Everglades restoration possible,” said Eva Velez, Chief of the Ecosystems Branch.

“The Integrated Delivery Schedule is the roadmap for Everglades restoration. We are excited to share the 2023 IDS update with the public and share our plans for continued progress in design, construction and operation of projects benefiting south Florida’s commutes and environment,” said Dr. Tabitha Elkington, Strategic Program Manager for the South Florida Ecosystem Restoration Program.

The South Florida Ecosystem Restoration Task Force Meeting will be held in Washington D.C. in the Stewart Lee Udall Department of the Interior Building, Yates Auditorium, 1849 C Street, NW, Washington, DC 20240 on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, from 9 a.m. to 3 pm., with a virtual option available.

Virtual attendees must register in advance at this link: https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_yyROYJLXR1CSNScQ1x84zA

Additional materials including the meeting agenda and the 2023 IDS will be available at https://www.evergladesrestoration.gov/task-force-1/nov-15-2023-task-force-meeting.

The public is encouraged attend in person, or to attend vertically via Zoom or join the live webcast via YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/@EvergladesRestorationgov/streams for those unable to join the Zoom Webinar.

The Integrated Delivery Schedule is a forward-looking snapshot of upcoming design and construction schedules and programmatic costs at a “top” line level for the South Florida Ecosystem Restoration (SFER) Program. It includes foundation projects like the Kissimmee River Restoration and the Comprehensive Everglades Restoration Plan (CERP) projects. The plan focuses on the “getting the water right.” CERP—the largest aquatic ecosystem restoration effort in the nation, spanning more than 18,000 square miles—is designed to improve the health of more than 2.4 million acres. The IDS reflects the strategy for the continued, historic momentum of the South Florida Ecosystem Restoration Program.
