Vehicles burglarized during church service

OKEECHOBEE — On Sunday, Aug. 20, two vehicles were burglarized at Sacred Heart Catholic Church located at 901 SW Sixth Street, during service. The victims were female attendees who left their purses inside the vehicles.

A third vehicle, which left the church and stopped for lunch at Golden Corral, was also broken into and the church offerings were taken. 

The suspect entered by breaking the side windows and snatching the purses, along with other items inside the vehicles.

A total estimated loss of $7,780 has been reported.
