OKEECHOBEE — The winners of the 4-H Public Speaking Contest were recently announced.
All first place winners were awarded a scholarship to the 4-H summer camp of their choice. First through third place winners were also awarded acrylic trophies. The Florida 4-H Public Speaking program is sponsored by Florida 4-H and Florida Power and Light(FPL). A thank you is extended to the Florida Dairy Farmers for supplying the Milk and Cupcakes for the local contest.
The winners are:
Fourth grade
• First place went to Leah Small from South Elementary with “I’ve Been Everywhere Man”;
• Second Place went to Rosaleigh Alford from North Elementary with “Winter the Dolphin”;
Fifth grade
• First place went to Olivia Wherrell from Home School “Shifting Thoughts”;
• Second Place went to Kaeden Williams from Everglades Elementary with “Social Media”;
• Third place went to Simona Williams from OCA with “Why You Should Train Horses”.
Sixth grade
• First place went to Gracie Spencer from Osceola Middle School with “ Mom and the Journey”;
• Second place went to Hannah Butler from Yearling Middle School with “Water on a Dairy Farm”;
• Third place went to Ruby Keith from RSCA with “The Adventures in Dairy Judging”.
