Fedencia of Labelle, Fl passed away suddenly on December 17, 2023. She succumbed to injuries sustained while in a motor vehicle accident alongside her beloved husband, who joined her in meeting the Lord a mere two weeks later. She was 95 years old.
Fedencia was born to Lillian E. Reid and Victor E. Powells in St. Thomas US Virgin Islands on November 16, 1928. She was the second of their three children (all deceased).
In her mid-twenties, she left St. Thomas in pursuit of a more promising future for New York City. Later, she was joined by her mother Lilly, sister Dagmar (deceased), and her son Lloyd. In her early fifties, she met and married Keith C. Rouse, and they lived happily in Queens, New York before retiring together to Labelle in 1995.
Fedencia was dearly loved. Not only was she a mother to her son, but she was also Auntie Den Den, Auntie Dencie, and of course, Auntie to her four nieces and nephews. And she was a doting grandmother to Shalema.
Quiet and God-loving, Den Den enjoyed reading and studying her bible, taking long walks, and doing beadwork. And there was never a stray cat in her presence that went unfed or uncared for. Known for her humor, her directness, and her honesty she, along with her husband Keith, has been a faithful member of The LaBelle Church of God since moving to LaBelle.
She was a dedicated and efficient worker. Hardly taking days off or vacationing. One could set a clock by her. However, she valued time spent outside of work with her family even more. Upon retirement, she and Keith rarely sat still enjoying traveling the country and enjoying life together.
Mrs. Fedencia Rouse is survived by her son Lloyd E. Spooner, her granddaughter Shalema Spooner. Kathleen Rodriguez (niece), Gary Santos (nephew), Doug Santos (nephew), Willford Powells (nephew), Jasmin Rodrigues (niece) and Christopher Rodriguez (nephew). And numerous additional great nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her loyal cat Tiger who misses her dearly.
Services for both Fedencia and Keith Rouse will be held on Saturday, January 27th at The Labelle Church of God in Labelle, 590 E. Hickpochee Ave., LaBelle, FL 33935
Viewing will begin at 10 am, immediately followed by funeral services.
The family would like to express our gratitude for all your prayers, love, and support during our time of grief and reembrace. God bless.
