40-acre wildfire contained in Okeechobee County

OKEECHOBEE  -- A 40-acre wildfire in Okeechobee County at 20479 NW 280th Street has been contained this afternoon (March 18) by the Florida Forest Service.

The Forest Service has two bulldozers and one fire engine on the scene.  Another two bulldozers and an additional fire engine are enroute. Okeechobee County Fire/Rescue is also on the scene with three brush trucks.

According to the Forest Service, no structures are threatened by the blaze. It is 100% contained by firefighters.
