OKEECHOBEE — The Big O Teen Anglers held their seventh tournament of the 2021 year out of Okee-Tantie on July 31. This month’s tournament included 20 anglers catching a total of 35 bass at a combined weight of 63.26 pounds.
The largest bass caught was by Cayden Durrance weighing 7.97 pounds. Great job Cayden!
This month’s standings were as follows:
9-12 Age Group
• First place went to Ricky Hartman with 7.22 pounds and Big Fish weighing 4.61 pounds.
Every month the Big O Teen Anglers have boat captains who volunteer their Saturday morning to help the youth anglers. Thanks go to: Terry Seabolt, Jim Newell, David Straight, Justin Whidden, Marc Williams, Robert Hertzer, David Mohney, Matt Davis, Stephanie Betterley, Adam Crum and Raul Martinez.
The youth anglers would like to send out a special thank you to everyone in the community who showed their support at our recent car wash. The kids raised a nice sum of money towards their end of the year banquet.
If you know a youth angler between the ages of 9-19 who loves fishing or wants to learn a new sport, please reach out to Danielle at 561 436-8491 or bota.danielle@gmail.com.
