Brahmans beats Tradition Prep on soccer Senior Night

OKEECHOBEE- The Okeechobee High School Brahman varsity soccer team hosted their Senior Night on Jan. 19 before their game against Tradition Prep.

The Brahman soccer program recognized Logan Rucks, Julio Leal, Favian Ayala, Deni Yanez, Elias Garcia, Christian Diaz, Juan Virto, Michael Marin, Ethan Blomefield, Blane Boyer, Santiago Gonzalez, Tony  Zamora, Gorge Garcia, Victor Cardoso. The team also recognized team manager Isabella Puga.

The Brahmans went on to beat Tradition Prep, 5-1. Tony Zamora led Okeechobee with 3 goals on the night, while Cristian Diaz and Elias Garcia each scored a goal of their own. Zamora earned Big Lake Athlete of the Week honors for his performance with the team earlier in the season.

Zamora leads the Brahmans with eleven goals scored this season, which makes him the leading scorer in Okeechobee’s 5A district 13.

On Jan. 25 the district playoffs begin for Okeechobee. The Brahmans host the Fort Pierce Westwood Panthers at 6 p.m. Okeechobee defeated the Panthers earlier this season 6-1 on the road in Fort Pierce. The winner of that game will advance to the district semifinals to face either Port St. Lucie or Bayside on Jan. 29.
