OKEECHOBEE — A drug deal in the parking lot of Citgo Gas Station was foiled when a member of the Okeechobee Narcotics Task Force spotted the transaction. The detective was sitting in his vehicle in the parking lot of Backwoods Billiards when he saw a blue Ford car pull into the gas station.
According to the arrest report, he saw the driver make contact with someone in the parking lot, and the second person got into the car. The detective saw a small bag of what he suspected was marijuana in the driver’s hand and notified a second member of the task force that a drug deal was going down. When the detectives made contact with the two men, one of them reportedly handed over the bag of marijuana. A consensual search of the vehicle produced a pouch containing methamphetamine, a marijuana joint, and a glass pipe.
The driver, Christopher Lee Stone, 38, from Arcadia, was charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell and possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond was set at $26,000.
The passenger was not charged.
