Firefighters rescue dog

Posted

OKEECHOBEE — Around 7 p.m. on Jan. 16, Okeechobee County Fire Rescue responded to a request for an animal rescue. The arriving crew discovered that a dog was trapped by dirt and water about 50 feet into a 100 foot long culvert. Using shovels to dig down to the culvert and a Sawzall to cut into the culvert, the crew was able to rescue the dog and reunite it with its owner. [Photos courtesy Okeechobee County Fire Rescue}
