Four injured in crash in Glades County

GLADES COUNTY — Four Okeechobee residents were injured in a two-vehicle crash in Glades County on Thursday. according to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol.

According to the FHP report, the accident occurred around 8 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 26.

A sedan driven by a 22-year-old Okeechobee man was traveling north on County Road 721, approximately 1 mile south of Bullhead Grade, approaching a curve to the right. A sports utility vehicle driven by a 42-year-old Okeechobee man was traveling south on County Road 721.

According to the FHP report, the sedan crossed the center line and traveled into the path of the SUV. The front left portion of the sedan collided with the front left portion of SUV. The sedan came to final rest in the northbound lane of County Road 721, facing northeast. The SUV traveled off the roadway, rotated and came to final rest in a ditch on the west shoulder of County Road 721, facing north. The sedan driver was transported by medevac to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center in Fort Pierce.

The driver of the SUV and two passengers, a 45-year-old female and a 11-year-old girl, received minor injuries, according to the report.

All of those involved in the accident were wearing seat belts, the report states.
