OKEECHOBEE – David Hazellief will continue to serve as Okeechobee County Commission Chair for the coming year.

Hazellief, who was chosen by his fellow board members as chair last year, was re-elected at the Nov. 21 meeting during the annual reorganization of the board.

Brad Goodbread will serve as first vice chairman. Frank DeCarlo will serve as second vice chair.

Commissioners Kelly Owens and Terry Burroughs were not in attendance at the Nov. 21 meeting.

In 2024, in June, the board will meet the first and third Thursdays of the month in June, November and December. The rest of the year, the board will meet on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month.

Legal advertisements will be published in the Lake Okeechobee News and the Palm Beach Post. Since the print edition of Lake Okeechobee News is a weekly publication, the Palm Beach Post, a daily newspaper, will be used when there is not sufficient time for the legal notice to appear in the Lake Okeechobee News. Legal notices published in the Lake Okeechobee News can also be found online at southcentralfloridalife.com.

The commission postponed board appointments to other boards and committees until the full board is present.
