Posted
OKEECHOBEE -- On April 8 the Okeechobee Narcotics Task Force responded to the Okeechobee County Jail about inmate/trustee Clifford Parler Ryder bringing contraband into the Okeechobee County Jail.

Upon their arrival at the jail, a detention deputy advised them that they observed Ryder conceal something in his waistband during trash detail. Once back inside the jail, the detention deputy observed Ryder remove an object from his waistband and drop the object into an empty bin.

The detention deputy retrieved the package and turned it over to the narcotics task force. The package was opened and contained approximately 20.9 grams of methamphetamine, 3.0 grams of Fentanyl and 2.1 grams of MDPV (Molly).

Ryder allegedly stated he was asked to bring the illegal narcotics into the jail by another inmate. Ryder was charged with trafficking in methamphetamine, possession of Fentanyl with intent to sell or deliver within 1000 feet of a county-maintained park, possession of MDPV with intent to sell or deliver within 1000 feet of a county-maintained park and interdiction of contraband into a detention facility.

To date, the other inmate has not been identified.
