OCSO celebrates graduates

OKEECHOBEE — Okeechobee County Sheriff's Office congratulates the graduating Correction Academy personnel from Class #172.

This class is the first I.R.S.C. Sponsored course held at the Dixon Hendry Campus, and we couldn't be happier to have most graduates starting here as detention deputies. Many came from our L.E.A.P. (Law Enforcement Apprenticeship Program), which took off in our local High Schools.

L.E.A.P. targets high school seniors within the community and keeps our resources local. We will be back in the schools again, offering scholarships for the course and the opportunity for a rewarding career afterward.

We want to thank the IRSC Treasure Coast Public Safety staff, Mr. Russ Brown and his crew from Indian River State College Dixon Hendry Campus, and the OCSO and sister agency instructors who assisted with their classes.
