OKEECHOBEE- The Okeechobee High School junior varsity volleyball team swept Moore Haven and Treasure Coast in a tournament held in Okeechobee on Sept. 2.

The JV squad defeated both Moore Haven and Treasure Coast 2-0, and have won eight games this season.  Okeechobee dominated Moore Haven in their first match, winning the first set 25-5 and second set 25-7, before going on to beat Treasure Coast 25-7 in the first set and 25-9 in the second set.

The score in the rematch against Moore Haven was a little closer, but the jv Lady Brahmans still won comfortably 25-13 in the first set and 25-18 in the second set.

Last season the JV team put together an impressive 15-game win streak, finishing with an 18-1 record. And with a record of 8-0 already this season, it looks like the JV Lady Brahmans are picking up right where they left off.

The varsity and JV squads for Okeechobee are on the road taking on St. Edward’s tonight (Sept. 7) starting at 5 p.m.  Both will be back at OHS again on Sept. 14 when the Lady Brahmans host Lincoln Park Academy starting at 5 p.m.
