Okeechobee Arrest Report

The following individuals were arrested on felony or driving under the influence (DUI) charges by the Okeechobee County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO), the Okeechobee City Police Department (OPD), the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), the Department of Corrections (DOC) or the Okeechobee Narcotics Task Force (ONTF).

• Brandon Cardenas, 29, Northwest 10th Avenue, was arrested Aug. 26 by OCSO and charged with DUI. He reportedly refused a breath test. Bond was set at $500.

• Christopher Hatcher, 42, Northwest 12th Street, was arrested Aug. 26 by OCSO and charged with battery inmate on inmate. Bond was set at $5,000.

• Isaiah Bishop, 19, Knotts Landing Northeast, was arrested Aug. 29 by OPD after reportedly breaking into the Okeechobee Ballet studio at approximately 9:45 p.m. on Sunday. The owner of the studio drove past the building and saw someone walking around inside. She then saw a man walk out of the building and over to the Quick Oil Change on U.S. 441 North. When Officer Brandon Adkins confronted Bishop, he denied entering the studio but allegedly had a black t-shirt with the word “Ballet” written on it in pink inside his jacket. He was charged with burglary and petit theft. Bond was set at $3,000.

• Megan O’Grady, 30, Stuart, was arrested Aug. 27 by OPD after she called 911 about a disturbance. When officers arrived, O’Grady was the only one in the room but told them she was hearing voices and her boyfriend had been abducted and returned as a different person. A search of her backpack reportedly revealed Suboxone which she said belonged to her boyfriend. When the boyfriend was contacted, he did have a prescription but said he did not give any to O’Grady. She was charged with possession of a controlled substance without a prescription. Bond was set at $5,000.

• Manuel Ramirez, 26, Pahokee, was arrested Aug. 29 by OCSO and charged with fleeing or eluding law enforcement with siren activated. Ramirez was one of a large group gathered at Lock 7 early Sunday morning when a deputy told them to disperse. Ramirez reportedly exited the parking lot in a reckless manner, nearly hitting the patrol car. After he got out onto U.S. 78 West, he reportedly did a donut in the middle of the highway and then headed toward town at a high rate of speed. He finally stopped in the ‘Winn Dixie parking lot and was arrested.

• Earl Thomas, 43, Southwest 10th Street, was arrested Aug. 28 by OPD and charged with attaching a tag not assigned, possession of methamphetamine, two counts possession of drug paraphernalia, driving without a license third or subsequent offense and possession of Fentanyl. Bond was set at $9,500.

• Jenee Barker, 38, Southeast Ninth Court, was arrested August 30 by ONTF and charged with possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving without a license. Bond was set at $4,500.

• Lora Gardner, 61, Northwest 11th Street, was arrested Aug. 30 by ONTF and charged with possession of a controlled substance without a prescription. Bond was set at $10,000.

• Joshua Hicks, 39, Northwest 86th Court, was arrested Aug. 30 by OCSO and charged with possession of methamphetamine, driving without a license and failure to register a motor vehicle. Bond was set at $6,000.

• Abigayle Ericson, 21, Northwest 34th Street, was arrested Aug. 31 by OCSO and charged with battery of a law enforcement officer. Bond was set at $5,000.

• Daniel Garland, 29, Jenkinsburg, Ga., was arrested Aug. 31 by OPD and charged with grand theft. Bond was set at $2,500.

• Charles Spiva III, 26, Northeast 11th Street, was arrested Aug. 31 by OCSO and charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting arrest without violence. Bond was set at $7,000.

• Chase Weeks, 26, Southwest 10th Street, was arrested Aug. 31 by OCSO and charged with battery, second or subsequent offense. Bond was set at $10,000.

• Amie Meeks, 40, U.S. 441 Southeast, was arrested Sept. 1 by OPD and charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond was set at $5,750.

• Christopher Gornall, 58, Waycross, Ga., was arrested Sept. 1 by OCSO and charged with false imprisonment and battery. Bond was set at $50,500.
