Osceola County deputy arrested

Posted

OSCEOLA COUNTY — On April 20, 2023, the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint regarding Deputy Arturo Dominguez. The complaint came from a detective who works for the Okeechobee County Sheriff’s Office.

A detective from Okeechobee County Sheriff’s Office did an arrest warrant on suspect Omar Ayala (accused of having sex with a minor) and saw that Deputy Dominguez had used a law enforcement database to repeatedly run Ayala’s name. Deputy Dominquez told the Okeechobee detective he ran Ayala’s name because he had pulled him over on a traffic stop.

During the investigation, it was discovered that Deputy Dominquez and Omar Ayala are lifelong friends. Deputy Dominguez was running Ayala’s name to see if he had a warrant.

During his interview, Deputy Dominguez admitted to researching Ayala to determine if he had an active felony warrant. He also admitted he lied to the detective about the traffic stop and confessed he did have conversations with Ayala about his arrest warrant.

Former Deputy Dominguez (DOB 08/19/1992) was fired from the Sheriff’s Office and arrested on the following four felonies last night:
• Unauthorized access to computers and devices.

• Official Misconduct by obstructing an investigation.
• Disclosure or use of confidential criminal justice information.
• Accessory after the fact to Unlawful sexual activity with a minor.
