'Stranger danger' incident reported in Okeechobee

Posted

OKEECHOBEE — A  “stranger danger” incident was reported last week in the Kings Bay area.

Okeechobee County Sheriff’s Deputy Eric Gauroniak was dispatched to the Kings Bay neighborhood on U.S. 441 Southeast at approximately 3 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 19.

According to his report, the sheriff’s office received a call from someone saying they saw a social media post approximately 45 minutes earlier about a man on a white motorcycle with red pinstripes driving through the neighborhood trying to talk to “little kids.” The post described the man as wearing a long-sleeved referee jacket, long pants and a clown helmet.

Despite canvassing the neighborhood, the deputy was unable to locate the man. However, the caller told him she believed the man lived on Southeast 43rd Trail.
